Whiny Femmes is an annual zine edited by Christina Hajjar & Jules Hardy. When we did our call for submissions in Summer 2016 we asked for themes of rejection, pet peeves, existentialism, and favourite inspirations. This zine is an opportunity to whine or to speak to the power of whining. We want to embrace the beauty of complaining as a way to validate the tenderness that is frowned upon and suppressed everyday for femme folks (& femmes at the intersection of multiple oppressions).

This launch is in celebration of sassy/ grumpy/ sad/ pouty/ loudmouth/ killjoy/ extra/ resilient/ resistant/ badass/ bratty/ takenoshit/ tough/ tender/ bitter/ sweet femmes AND a celebration of the birth of our beautiful bb femme in its first iteration, published in Summer 2017.

✿ Physical space: Unfortunately the Edge is not a fully accessible venue. There is one step up into the main space.
There are single-stall, accessible, gender-inclusive washrooms.
✿ Cost: If the zine’s cost is a barrier for you, we can offer a $5-10 sliding scale charge instead!
